Do you miss going to see your favourite old classics and newly launched vehicles at Motor Shows? During lockdown we have been blessed with virtual events via livestreams on websites and social platforms, but I’m sure you would agree, it’s not the same as seeing products and cars in the flesh.
This year we have had to take a step back from enjoying the hospitality industry and have missed attending live motor shows in the UK due to the pandemic.
It has been announced that ‘The British Motor Show’ has been rescheduled at the Farnborough International Exhibition Centre for August 2021. Unlike China who on the 26th September2020, successfully hosted ‘The Beijing Motor Show’ with the attendance of press, public, exhibition stands and traders. Finset have been watching all the live footage of the event and cannot wait for the UK to be able to bring back the ‘British Motor Show’ experience...
In the meantime, there is a new concept in which you can attend - ‘Pop Up Motor Shows’. These events will be intimate socially distanced car enthusiast events that will allow visitors to casually browse any car related product and service that has been introduced in 2020 - or indeed any upcoming products and services to look forward to in 2021.
These pop-up experiences will be dotted around various UK locations and will take advantage of commercial spaces whilst they are unoccupied to host the events. They will beheld on a small scale and be free to attend and will meet social distancing criteria to keep everyone safe.
I bet you want to know when and where is the first pop up?! – The first pop up has been confirmed for 2020 in Basingstoke Festival Place shopping, dining and leisure centre. You will be able to visit this Pop-Up Motor Show from the 16th October until to 24thDecember 2020. This is a great little day out for you and the kids if you wish to get out of the house in the colder months and educate, learn and enjoy from the Q&A sessions, book signings, and competitions, and keep your eyes peeled for some potential celebrity appearances and entertainment.
The COVID-19 pandemic is illustrating to lots of business’ that we can do things in different ways, that are more cost effective but also more beneficial for consumers and attendees of these events. And who knows...we may find out that in the future, this is a more attractive concept moving forward to host Motor Shows.
